Eric I Arnoth quite likes his new Toshiba Satellite A135-S4427 but nothing in life is perfect and he’s written an article on his blog describing a problem he’s been having with with the notebook.

Eric’s dualbooted his new notebook with Ubuntu and Windows and has found the installation and setup process relatively painless. Unfortunately, 30 days after purchase, the LCD backlight malfunctioned.  Eric had no problems obtaining a replacement but now the new machine seems to be exhibiting similar symptoms (screen flicker when the lid is opened) to the original just before the LCD problem occured.

Eric is now beginning to wonder if this is a flaw of the model so we have been searching for evidence of this.  It seems unlikely, but Eric is unlikely to be reassured until the screen flicker (which only occurs in Windows) is explained .
