Toshiba supply ‘great machines’

Questing Beast blog contributor TDEC is on the prowl for a new laptop following the death of his present one. Uncertain which laptop to pick, TDEC has re-assigned the quest to his readers!

Despite misgivings about Vista, TDEC feels it’s a must - otherwise he may end up with an out-of-date OS after a few years. A decent support network is also of particular interest and, due to his tight budget, the price tag is also a big factor!

Drek suggests TDEC should…

‘Try Toshiba. They make great machines and sometimes have awesome sales.’

With this in mind, maybe TDEC should try the Tecra A9. The customisable 15″ laptop runs Vista, uses the Santa Rosa platform, has a Core 2 Duo processor and contains noteworthy features such as Intel’s Mobile Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 and special shock absorbing design. Described as ‘impressive’ by the laptop-computers review blog and listing full specifications, this review is certainly worth a look.
