Powerful games programing machine

bornon5 is trying to make the difficult move from desktop to laptop and, having had little experience in the area and of course needing a sophisticated piece of equiptment, he has asked for help from NotebookForums.com.

As well as running standard ‘mundane’ tasks, bornon5 also needs his new laptop to run considerably demanding graphics as he works in 3D animation and video games programming, which he needs to test. He is therefore after a powerful machine with a dedicated video card, at least 1 GB RAM and a 15.4″ screen.

With hard core specifications like that, there is one current laptop that’s wowed reviewers and could step up to the mark: the Satellite X205.

Engadget.com have been particularly impresses with its dual NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT GPUs, and 512MB of dedicated video RAM, not to mention its 17″ 1680 x 1050 resolution screen perfect for progamming on. The X205 sounds plenty powerful enough to replace bornon5’s desktop!
