Wie computerbase.de berichtet hat Toshiba drei seiner Produktserien einen neue Ausstattung verpasst. Hier eine kleine Übersicht mit den aktuellen Konfigurationen der 15,4″ Notebooks.

Alle Notebooks haben Windows VistaBusiness Edition vorinstalliert, aber es gibt ebenso Windows XP Professional dazu.

InsideHW have got their hands on a Toshiba Satellite A300D-125 and reviewer Sasa Pantelic sums it up in two words – “dazzle everywhere”.

Though he is impressed by the shiny black “so-called piano finish”, he finds it to be a bit of a “magnet for dust and fingerprints” but by the end of the test he’s used to it and isn’t too worried about it. Sasa also discovers the touchpad is “very precise” and the translucent LED strap on the edge “makes easy navigation in poor lighting conditions”. Another test in the form of bending the keyboard is performed, with Sasa finding that “bending was hardly noticeable, a very pleasant surprise for us”, as well as being pleased that the screen, though of average picture quality, has high brightness and contrast levels, making work “possible even under bright lighting conditions”.

Concluding, although they had some reservations, the final evaluation for the Toshiba Satellite was “satisfactory” and it is a “solid home multimedia device”. Head over to InsideHW for the full review.

Der Toshiba Satellite A300D-13A war beim PC Magazine im Testlabor und herausgekommen ist, dass er ein “guter” Laptop ist. Er konnte trotz seines fairen Preises von unter 1000€ mit einer guten Verarbeitung und hervorragender Leistung punkten. Abstriche mussten dafür bei der Akkulaufzeit von 2 Stunden gemacht werden.

Drei Highlights für die Musikfreunde unter euch, die im Test leider nicht erwähnt wurden:

• Harman Kardon Lautsprecher mit Dolby Sound Room
• integriertes FM Radio
• 4 USB Anschlüsse mit Sleep n´Charge Funktion, damit man den MP3 Player über Nacht laden kann

Laut einem Beitrag von Laptops@Welt der Technik basiert der A300D schon auf der neuen AMD Puma Plattform, da ich aber auf der Toshiba Seite nix dazu finden konnte, würde ich meine Hand dafür nicht ins Feuer legen.

A thousand kudos, and raised glasses galore to i4u.com, who have brightened the first day of the summery month of July with this rather interesting post from within the Toshiba camp. It seems that “Toshiba has announced that it updated some of its Satellite series notebooks with the new AMD next generation notebook platform”.

“Models receiving upgrades include the P300D, A300D, M300D, U400D, L300D, and L350D” and it looks like it’s good news for all concerned as “the new AMD platforms offer better performance, visuals and battery life compared to previous AMD platforms.

With new features ever round the corner, and happy reviews from almost all concerned, it seems like a good time to become a Toshiba Satellite owner.
