On relance le débat de la lourdeur de Windows Vista, et potentiellement de son importante mise à jour avec le SP1. L’ avis du bloggeur qui a réinstallé récemment en dual Boot son Toshiba Portege M400 3G Windows XP tablet PC Edition 2005 et Windows Vista SP1 RC0 sur deux disques durs différents. Jusqu’à, présent, il n’avait jamais utilisé cette machine que sous Windows Vista. Sous Windows XP, la machine n’est pas plus véloce, et ne démarre pas plus vite que sous Windows Vista et à l’usage, le dernier né de Microsoft intègre des avancées majeures pour une utilisation Tabletet (gestures, TIP de meilleur qualité, réactivité de la reconnaissance manuscrite, etc etc …). La régression du système d’exploitation a entraîné une régression de son usage …A choisir et si c’était à refaire, il ne mettrait que Windows Vista sur ses tablettes, malgré tous ses innombrables défauts de jeunesse, souvent invisibles sur une machine bien installée avec des drivers à jour !

gturba hat sich bei ebay Amerika einen Toshiba Portege m400 ersteigert. Nun hat er leider ein kleines Hardware Problem und wollte sich mit diesem an den Toshiba-Support wenden. Leider können die ihm ohne Seriennummer nicht weiterhelfen. Nun ist seine Frage ob es ein Tool gibt um diese Nummer auszulesen, da er keinen Support bekommen kann. Xandyx schlägt ihm folgendes vor, er solle sich das Pro9gramm toshiba management console auf seinen Laptop laden. Daniel Danilin reports a problem concerning his Portege M400 Tablet PC on microsoft.public.windows.vista.general. With Vista Ultimate installed, it takes at least one minute for the Portege to switch in sleep mode - during this time the hard drive is working excessively.
