Selon Gregory Nguyen de chez tekit.fr les Satellite P300 et leur superbe design jouant la carte du noir (finition que vous retrouverez même sur les touches du clavier) voient leur définition matérielle revue pour la fin de l’été.

Vendu 800 euros, le P300-1AP marque un palier puisque nous nous retrouvons face à un portable intégrant la plate-forme Intel Centrino 2. Le processeur est un Core 2 Duo P8400 cadencé à 2,26 GHz. La mémoire vive demeure fixée à 3 Go et le disque dur affiche une capacité de 250 Go.

Le circuit graphique monte en gamme avec une puce ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3650 agrémentée de 256 Mo de mémoire vidéo dédiée. Le Wi-Fi est désormais de type 802.11n. Un port eSATA fait son apparition.

Enfin, la série P300 est couronnée par le P300-188 qui devrait arriver sur le marché aux alentours de 900 euros.

So there.

Now, we first mentioned this back on talkToshiba on the 1^st July via i4u.com, but it’s always good to get a little further information on exactly how Toshiba are planning to build upon their “solid reputation of quality” with “several innovative features” on their Satellite P300, Satellite A300, Satellite M300 and Satellite U400 (pictured). After all, with the latter of these lighter than the MacBook Air, a number of users have recommended the Satellite – this poster from student forums describing it as “a decent, yet portable screen size/weight, and good battery life…”.

Whatsmore, slipperybrick reliably inform us that at the beginning of the third quarter of 2008, Toshiba will offer a computer trade-in and recycling program for all manufacturer’s PCs to reduce environmental impact and promote efficient utilization of resources. All happy news for those interested in purchasing a Satellite then!

L’équipement audio de la machine est plutôt bon: enceintes Harman/Kardon, certification Dolby et sortie SPDIF.
Ce P300-159 on retiendra essentiellement la reconnaissance faciale par la Webcam, qui permet de remplacer le scan d’un doigt ou le mot de passe de 152 lettres par un petit sourire à l’œil électronique. Ainsi que la fonction Sleep & Charge, qui alimente les périphériques USB lorsque l’ordinateur est éteint.

With the rather exciting Toshiba Satellite limited designs (sadly restricted to being released in France only) being launched at the Take a Closer Look Event in Paris recently, with designs provided by some impressive names - Agnes B, Superkitsch and Ajun Park – we got to wondering, what would you put on your laptop if you had the choice?

Depending on the price and ease of use of these skins, perhaps it would be a hip band, the latest film (The irrepressible Doctor Jones maybe as our quick artists rendition suggests) – or maybe a classic retro Star Wars look perhaps? Or would you rather pay the extra to obtain a customised photo of a loved one, favoured pet or obscure cultural icon? Either way, the general consensus seems to be that with laptop design set to become more and more customisable over the next few years, things could be certainly heading in this direction.

But are skins really enough, and will those of us who really embrace the potential of making ones laptop their own, will nothing short of intricate engraving, or insisting on shop floor customisation, provide the answer. After all, as potentially one of the most expensive, and well-used consumer product one purchases in a year, plain laptop covers may soon not be enough.

Only time will tell…

Sie werden nur in Frankreich verfügbar sein – sind aber Ideal für alle Dalmatiner Liebhaber, Street-Art Freunde und natürlich alle die sich einfach vom Rest abheben wollen.

Toshiba étoffe sa gamme de PC portable Satellite avec le modèle P300-159. Celui-ci est équipé d’un écran 17 pouces WXGA d’une résolution de 1440 x 900 pixels.

Il bénéficie également d’une connexion Wifi et fonctionne sous Windows Vista. Le Satellite P300-159 offre par ailleurs un graveur de DVD SuperMulti et dispose d’une webcam et d’un lecteur 5 en 1 qui supporte les formats MMC, SD, memory stick, memory stick pro et Xd.

Il existe également dans la gamme Satellite le modèle A300 qui est doté d’un écran 15,4 pouces. Ce produit se décline en trois versions dont les prix s’échelonnent de 699 à 1199 euros HT.
