InsideHW have got their hands on a Toshiba Satellite A300D-125 and reviewer Sasa Pantelic sums it up in two words – “dazzle everywhere”.

Though he is impressed by the shiny black “so-called piano finish”, he finds it to be a bit of a “magnet for dust and fingerprints” but by the end of the test he’s used to it and isn’t too worried about it. Sasa also discovers the touchpad is “very precise” and the translucent LED strap on the edge “makes easy navigation in poor lighting conditions”. Another test in the form of bending the keyboard is performed, with Sasa finding that “bending was hardly noticeable, a very pleasant surprise for us”, as well as being pleased that the screen, though of average picture quality, has high brightness and contrast levels, making work “possible even under bright lighting conditions”.

Concluding, although they had some reservations, the final evaluation for the Toshiba Satellite was “satisfactory” and it is a “solid home multimedia device”. Head over to InsideHW for the full review.

Er besitzt seit einigen Wochen einen Toshiba L300, allerdings spiel das Touchpad etwas verrückt, d. h. der Mauszeiger springt über das Display und verschiebt Verknüpfungen und öffnet Anwendungen wahllos. Hagiman rät ihm folgendes zu tun, Zitat: “…Deaktiviere doch einfach im Touchpad Utility das ein berühren des Touchpads als linker Mausklick gewertet wird. Ist doch sonnenklar das ohne Tisch und durch die Vibrationen der Hand, das Touchpad falsche Informationen bekommt…”

Schaussi30 ist User im notebookforum.at. Er hat Probleme mit den Touchpadfunktionen an seinem Toshiba Satellite A200. Zitat: “…Ich hab den Treiber für das Touchpad von der Toshiba Seite installiert. (Vista Synaptics )
Zur meiner Verwunderung hab ich bei den Einstellungen nur mehr 2 Punkte:
1. Übersicht
2. Aktion für linke Taste und Aktion für rechte Taste.

All die anderen Einstellungen wie Scrollen,klebrige Ränder,Einstellungen für die Ecken usw. die ich bei meinem alten Book hatte sind nicht vorhanden.

Gibt es einen Treiber bei dem ich diese Einstellungen wieder bekomme oder ist ein anderes Pad eingebaut?…”.

Ein User rät ihm daraufhin, er solle doch mal den aktuellen Universal Treiber downloaden. Allerdings hat Schaussi30 mit diesem Treiber auch wenig Glück, hat von euch noch jemand eine Idee, wenn “ja” dann klickt bitte hier und ihr gelangt direkt zum Forumsbeitrag!! Viel Spaß!

Agathe de commentcamarche a un Toshiba M50 142 depuis un peu plus d’un an et tout allait bien sauf que depuis deux mois environ, le touchpad se met à déconner par intermittences.

Des fois ça marche, et des fois, le touchpad n’avance que tout doucement puis se bloque pendant cinq secondes toutes les deux secondes, ce qui est très énervant.

A part ça tout le reste fonctionne normalement.

Avez-vous une idée ?

Nachdem ich die Maus vom USB-Anschluss getrennt habe, ist mir aufgefallen, dass das Touchpad funktionslos bleibt. …” . Elle est sous Vista. La réinstallation de driver de chez Synaptics ne change rien au problème. En fait, le driver s’installe correctement mais le problème c’est que le touchpad n’apparaît pas dans la liste des périphériques (il n’y a que la souris mais pas le touchpad). Le touchpad n’apparaît pas non plus dans Panneau de configuration / Souris/ matériel. A noter que dans l’onglet Synaptics (même endroit), tout est grisé et que là encore bien sûr pas de touchpad dans la liste de matériel.

Phipser aus dem Notebook-Forum hat ein Problem mit seinem Touchpad. Auf dem Pad von seinem Toshiba Satellite A100-081, arretiert sich ständig die rechte Maustaste. Jedenfalls wird durch das kleine Synaptics Symbol ein “Dauergedrückthalten” angezeigt. Er ist sich sehr sicher, dass es sich dabei um ein Software-Problem handle, da es erst durch die häufige Verwendung einer externen Maus gekommen sei und auch diese manchmal kurzzeitig davon betroffen sei (zumindest wenn er an den Treibern herumexperimentiere). Wer ihm weiterhelfen möchte und kann, bitte einfach hier klicken und ihr gelangt zum Forumsbeitrag! Danke!

Paul is finding that accidentally hitting the touchpad is an annoyance he can do without. He says it’s ‘driving him nuts’ and has asked for help on nnseek forums.

Paul owns a Toshiba L35-S2174 and although databases such as “Ask Iris” offer solutions, there’s nothing for his particular model. Paul wonders if it would be possible to install a driver from another notebook but would rather find a more straightforward way of disabling the tap feature.
