Ah Friday! Mythical day of the week, and the ideal opportunity for workers across the world to dust down their wallets, and prepare for an evening of socialising with chums!
But with still an hour or two to go, till the office has fully wound down – then why not pop over to one of the best websites in town, gaj-it.com – who are offering free stuff galore. You see, to help celebrate the launch of Toshiba’s new help forum for laptops called,‘Answers from Laptop Experts’, they are teaming up with the generous folk at M80, to giveaway 5 x 2GB MP3 Players.
And not only is the forum an excellent place to get a whole heap of answers for any problems you may have, but to win one of their shiny new MP3 players – all you have to do is leave a comment in the comment box here before Friday October 17th…
And as Ben tips – “humour, interesting facts or even some good old fashioned flattery about Gaj-IT or Toshiba could help your case”. So go win!
Looking for a novel way to use your Toshiba of a rainy afternoon? Well, we’re pretty convinced that msJeanJOiNSwoot has found a cracking idea. Aspiring guitarist and novice video editor extraordinaire, she has entered a competition with a company called guitarrig, and recorded one of her songs – and crafted a real rather super video for it.
OK, so we’re not sure about the monotone robot on vocals – but the guitar-work is spot-on and the visuals she has created with her Guitar Rig 3 software on Toshiba laptop Intel dual core with Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 1 operating system are simply great.
An inspiring piece of creativity for a damp Wednesday afternoon…. Cracking stuff msJeanJOiNSwoot! Have you done better? Do let us know…
“With the demands of the new Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System and Microsoft Office applications becoming increasingly higher, you might be thinking it’s about time to ask your boss for a new laptop” begins the review of the Toshiba P300 (click here for full spec) over at our good pals at gaj-it.com. And by golly they’re right!
For far too many folk, dubious laptops seemingly left over from the cold-war bring nothing more than frustration and lack of productivity. And as Arutha (author of the review) says “for the next generation of business laptops this is one to consider”, pointing out the dual core processor and 2GB of RAM, alongside the enviable 200GB hard drive space and DVD writer as standard.
Of course, the P300 isn’t perfect for everybody… “For us gamers don’t even go there” – but if it is a business laptop you are after, then this is certainly one to consider according to gaj-it.com who heartily recommend “writing those ‘recommendation’ letters to your boss…” You heard them – get to it!
Over at Register Hardware, Tony Smith has had the Portégé out of the box for a test run, and it’s safe to say he’s suitably impressed. Straight off the bat he lays into the closest competitor, Apple’s MacBook Air (no optical drive? Why?), saying that the ‘featherlight’ Toshiba beats it hands down.
He admits that the construction isn’t as sturdy as it could be, for example, the screen only being hinged at either corner. As he points out, though, this gives the laptop ‘the ability to absorb knocks and bumps’.He says the portability of the machine more than makes up for the lightweight construction, though. After all, the main selling point of this device is its weight and any sturdiness that exists in other machines naturally adds to the strain on your shoulder as you lug it round. Toshiba have produced in the Portégé a laptop that ‘you can carry in your hand all day’.
Tony’s in-depth four page review goes into great detail about every aspect of the machine and is well worth a read if you’re caught in two minds about buying a lightweight laptop. Just remember that the Portégé does include a built in, ready to go optical drive and performs exceptionally well. So well, in fact, that Tony says the portability and ‘decent computing experience’ make the Portégé ‘a winner’.
…”. Den vollständigen Forumsbeitrag könnt ihr hier lesen! Danke!
